In the 21st century varied forms of technologies have made our lives easier;communication between
parties who are thousands of miles apart have become but a click away, in a few seconds a single image on the Internet could be viewed by thousands of people all over the world. But what I do find most interesting is the way that “Christians” tend to use these channels to propagate the “Gospel”.
You may have come across a strange message on the Internet which always ends with “share this if you love God” or “share this with eight people and you will be blessed”; this often makes me wonder if they are in fact sharing the Gospel or just threatening people to forward messages to each other.
Some of these range from inspiring messages to messages which are absurd, not factual and definitely not possible. An example of such messages circulate after people finish SHS. They get messages
that tell them to send the received message to eight people and they will get 8 A’s.
Often at times this makes me recall (Matthew 23 : 4) “They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.” .Dear friends in the Lord,I am not saying it is a bad thing to propagate the Gospel via these platforms,
I’m only cautioning us against spreading fear and making people send messages they may not even
care about.
Why not send a touching message of love and peace, that will inspire and motivate people to love
God and serve God. In Paul’s letter to the Philippians he encouraged them to walk in the Gospel of Christ. In Chapter 4 : 23 he wrote,“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen”.
This encouraged them to stand fast in the Lord.
Finally I would like to leave you with this message;(John 3:34) “for the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God,for God gives the spirit without limit.”
